Preservation and policy are two of the last tools we have left to save this district for today's music and creative spaces and tomorrow's. For over a decade, the Red River Cultural District has worked behind the scenes to build real solutions so Red River stays a home for music and culture. Now we're bringing that work forward  and asking all of Austin to stand with us.

Without swift, meaningful action from city leaders, there may soon be no Red River left to defend.

Our open letter calls on the City of Austin and Cultural Leaders to act on three fronts:

  1. Advance the development and implementation of the Red River Cultural District Overlay without further delay, as directed by RESOLUTION NO. 20220728-094 and RESOLUTION NO. 20240229-060
  2. Prioritize and implement meaningful cultural-preservation measures within the Downtown Density Bonus Phase II, the Transfer of Development Rights Policy, and within the Central City District Plan; and

  3. Ensure that the value created through increased density and redevelopment can also help retain, replace, and create music and cultural spaces within the district as a form of community benefits.

Please help champion our cause, we are always stronger together 🖤

Absolutely, for sure get a LICENSED INSPECTION on the flipped house! Not all flippers are the same. Just like in life there is a wide spectrum in regards to quality. Some flippers are flat out awful. They make very lipstick-like improvements, skip the expensive items such as the foundation, and plumbing and try to trick the consumer into paying more for a home, when the consumer shouldn't.  On the Flip Side (this joke was just too obvious) There are also excellent high-quality flippers whom selectively choose which homes they flip, and then they invest carefully and beautifully while genuinely  improving a home! Some of these hi-quality upper tier flippe...
