The 2026 Austin High Boys Lacrosse season was one defined by growth, resilience, and community. From preseason practices in January to a playoff appearance in May, our players embraced every challenge with determination and pride. The Maroons competed against some of the top programs in Texas, celebrated milestone victories, honored 10 outstanding seniors, and saw several underclassmen step into key varsity roles.

🎓 Celebrating the Class of 2026

During the season, we honored our Senior class on Senior Night vs. Dripping Springs. At the beginning of June, Austin High Lacrosse proudly graduated ten outstanding seniors who have helped shape our program both on and off the field:

Alex Alderson — University of Tennessee
John Burns — The University of Texas
Diego Carbajal — The University of Texas
Michael Friday — Texas A&M University
Henry Huser — Wake Forest University (club lacrosse)
Chris Macdonald — University of Georgia
Truman Mitchell — University of San Diego
Cameron Turner — The University of Texas (club lacrosse)
Owen Whatley — The University of Texas
Oscar Wittenbraker — The University of Texas

This group leaves behind a legacy of leadership, commitment, and pride in the Maroon uniform. Over the years, they have contributed countless hours to practices, games, team events, and community-building efforts that have strengthened our program and set an example for younger players.

While we will miss seeing them compete on the field, we are excited to watch them begin the next chapter of their journeys. The future is bright for these young men, and they will always remain an important part of the Austin High Lacrosse family. We thank our seniors for their dedication to Austin Lacrosse and wish them continued success in college and beyond.

🌟 Austin Youth Lacrosse — Playoffs & All-Stars

Youth Playoffs: We had a strong postseason showing, with at least one team from every grade level (3rd–8th) advancing to the AYLL (Austin Youth Lacrosse League) Playoffs.

3rd Black — Lightning B Division 2 Champions! 🏆
BIG congratulations to our 3rd Black team!! They battled through the semifinals against Dripping Springs 3/4 Gold and came out on top, then edged out Westlake in the championship. Both wins came by a single goal — true grit under pressure. Proud of the teamwork, effort, and dedication it took to get it done.

4th White
4th White also made it to the Lightning playoffs. Playing in the Lightning A Division 1, the team clashed with WYL in the Semi-Final game. Not the result we wanted, but glad the team was able to earn a postseason game in their first year in the new league.

5th Maroon
5th Maroon ended their regular season at the top of their division and took the BYE through the quarterfinals. However, injuries and illnesses kept a couple of our players sidelined for our Junior B Semi-Final game, and unfortunately the team couldn't overcome their absence. Looking forward to next year's run!

6th Black — Junior A Division 1 Runner-Up
With an exciting Semi-Final OT win over LTYL, 6th Black advanced to the Junior A Division 1 Championship Game, ending their season as Runner-Up against WYL. Our 6th Black battled and left it all on the field. The result didn't go our way, but the growth, grit, and heart this team showed all season is something to be proud of.

8th Maroon
8th Maroon battled hard in the Senior A Semi-Finals but fell to the WYL team. Nothing to hang our heads about — this was a season full of growth, development, and locked-in effort every time they stepped on the field. This group is focused, hungry, and put in the work… and it shows. The future Maroons are coming! Spring 2027 at Austin High is going to be special — can't wait to see the boys suit up and take the field. Stay grinding.

All-Stars ⭐

Congratulations to all of our All-Stars! We're excited to see these athletes represent AYL and showcase their hard work, sportsmanship, and love for the game. Players in the 5th–8th grades were considered for this honor. This was AYLL's 1st All-Star game, and it was special to have several of our players nominated this season.

Anderson Schlegel • Beau Opalka • Camp Smith • Crawford Rogers • Davis Hill • Grant Steppe-Lord • Harrison Burns • Holt Livingston • Joseph Adams • Lee Oudt • Levi Whitaker • Ozzie Baugher • Tomas Romano • West Kasten

🏛️ Dedication Day

Our legendary Coach Weigand was inducted into the Austin High Hall of Honor at Dedication Day — a well-deserved recognition for his lasting impact on the growth of lacrosse in Austin and across Texas.

As a founding member of the Texas High School Lacrosse League and head coach of the Austin High Boys Lacrosse team from 1989–2002, his legacy continues to shape the game. He was joined at the ceremony by his wife and daughters.

Austin High also recognized Benson Oldmixon in absentia. Oldmixon, Class of 2006, was honored for his military service and as a recipient of the "Well Done" Award. A proud Austin High Lacrosse alum, he lettered three years under Coach Andy Garrigan, earned all-state defensive honors in 2006, honorable mention all-state in 2005, and was named academic all-district in 2005 and 2006. He went on to play lacrosse at the Air Force Academy.

It was a special day honoring those who built the foundation — on and off the field.

☀️ Summer Lacrosse Camps at WAYA

With two camps in June and one in August, we're excited to welcome 120 campers to the field this summer. We're also thrilled to have the Austin High Girls Lacrosse program joining us to coach and mentor our girls' group throughout camp.

Coach Pat is also bringing back the FAST Skills Clinics in July for K–12 grade players (boys & girls) — all levels of experience are welcome!

The future of lacrosse in Austin is bright. From first-time players picking up a stick to experienced athletes sharpening their skills, our community continues to grow the game and inspire the next generation.

🔭 Looking Ahead

As we continue with our summer training, we want to thank everyone who continues to make Austin Lacrosse special. To our players, coaches, families, alumni, sponsors, and supporters — your commitment, passion, and generosity help strengthen our program year after year.

This spring season brought exciting victories, lasting friendships, community service, youth development, and the opportunity to celebrate ten outstanding seniors as they begin their next chapter.

The momentum continues with our youth camps, player development opportunities, and alumni connections that help grow the game across Austin. We remain committed to building a program that honors its tradition while investing in the next generation of Maroons.

Absolutely, for sure get a LICENSED INSPECTION on the flipped house! Not all flippers are the same. Just like in life there is a wide spectrum in regards to quality. Some flippers are flat out awful. They make very lipstick-like improvements, skip the expensive items such as the foundation, and plumbing and try to trick the consumer into paying more for a home, when the consumer shouldn't.  On the Flip Side (this joke was just too obvious) There are also excellent high-quality flippers whom selectively choose which homes they flip, and then they invest carefully and beautifully while genuinely  improving a home!
