TIED TOGETHER THROUGH TIME

Casis Elementary opened its doors in the 1950-1951 school year, and we are celebrating the 75th anniversary on Thursday, March 5, 2026 with student programming during the school day for current families and a family-friendly event open to current families, alumni, and the community after school.  Please see below for more information.

PROGRAMMING

 

Student Program Thursday, March 5, 2026 

Current Casis students will enjoy special programming Thursday morning, including a student dance performance and speakers from AISD.  Parents of current Casis students are welcome to attend.  Additional details will be shared through Konstella.

Alumni Reception Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 4:30 pm

If you are a former Casis student or staff member, join us for an alumni reception in the gym at 4:30 PM to mingle with current and past teachers and Casis Cougars.

All alumni are welcome, but an RSVP helps us plan!  Please RSVP HERE if you plan to attend the alumni gathering.  

Community Celebration, Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 5:00 pm

Current families, former families, student and staff alumni, and community members are invited to celebrate 75 years of Casis from 5:00-7:00 PM on the Casis Quad (turf near the cafeteria).  Wear your favorite old Casis spirit gear.  Pizza will be served, but please BYO water bottle.  Enjoy tours of the campus and the forest, live music, and speakers.

General Celebration Information:

🐾Entrance/Hours: Anniversary Celebration hours are 5:00-7:00 PM. All visitors must enter the campus through the main entrance by the front office. No other entrances will be open.

🐾 No drop offs: Adult presence and/or supervision is an expectation (no drop-offs please). Younger children should be accompanied by adults at all times throughout the Celebration.

🐾Parking: Limited parking is available in Circle Drive and the Northwood Parking lot.  Additional parking is available on neighborhood streets. 

🐾No Dogs: No dogs please – humans only. 

🐾Food/Drink: Pizza will be served.  Be sure to bring your reusable water bottle – we will have a big WaterMonster cooler!

🐾Spirit Store: Level up your school spirit by shopping the Spirit Store. Visit our pop-up on the breezeway outside the Cafeteria!   

🐾Path to Excellence: Purchase a brick in honor of your favorite Cougar!  Bricks for the Path to Excellence will be available to order.  

🐾Cougar P.R.I.D.E.:  Behavioral expectations are to show your Cougar P.R.I.D.E. towards yourself, others, and school property at all times (Positive – Respectful – In Control – Dedicated – Excellence)

 SHOULD YOU BUY a "FLIPPED" HOUSE?  Have you personally ever considered and wondered if you, yourself should BUY  a "flipped house." In my 15+ years of predominantly residential Central Austin brokerage practice and experience, here are my insights, opinions, suggestions and things to be cognizant of.  #1. Absolutely, for sure get a LICENSED INSPECTION on the flipped house! Not all flippers are the same. Just like in life there is a wide spectrum in regards to quality. Some flippers are flat out awful. They make very lipstick-like improvements, skip the expensive items such as the foundation, and plumbing and try to trick the consumer into paying more for a home, when the consumer shouldn't.  On the Flip Side (this joke was just too obvious) There are also excellent high-quality flippers whom selectively choose which homes they flip, and then they invest carefully and beautifully while genuinely  improving a home! Austin, Texas has a DOG PROBLEM.....

  Austin, Texas has a DOG problem (Letter I wrote and sent) Dear Austin City Council Members, Hello and well regards, Yesterday afternoon during a simple bicycle pedal exercise ride, I was physically chased by an unleashed Pitbull dog in ZILKER PARK. Then directly after recovering from almost being mauled by an unleashed pit-bull in Zilker Park, I attempted to buy a Gatorade at a nearby Barton Springs Road Market, but that didn't go well either, as an interior Market commercial customer had a massive mixed breed dog trolling through the diminutive shopping isles. Then this morning, at a Coffee shop on SoCo, there was only 1 entry way in and out, and there was another large, although more docile mixed breed dog. All of this has occurred in less than 24 hours. What's the point? The City of Austin's dog friendliness and citizen enabling of irresponsible dog owners has gotten out of control. Newsflash!
