The Marfa, West Texas Trip & Blog Post

First, this trip adventure and photo album is graciously dedicated to the kind couple of Mr. Don & Mrs. Linda Shafer. Don and Linda Shafer are Austin Silent Market real estate clients and are original friends with my broker Dad George Sears McGee. I, George Vance McGee befriended Don and & Linda during casual passerby's in Clarksville West Austin as a fellow resident. I was an 7-8 year Clarksville loft studio renter. Don and Linda mentioned they spend parts of their year in a "pre-fabricated" Modern Home and Guest Home they own & frequent in Marfa, Texas. The Shafers' created this estate on a gorgeous View-tastic hilltop. It's called, "the Glass House."

I'd personally describe the town and ambiance of Marfa Texas, as quiet, artsy, sleepy, and cool with a touch of NYC/Brooklyn Hipster sprinkled on top. All while still retaining West Texas authenticity.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to be house guests for 1 week.

Sad News. Tim Harrington of Austin, Texas passed away in mid-February 2024 from a heart attack. His Memorial Service is 2/29/2024 2 pm, @ Austin Ridge Bible Church in Westlake.

George Vance..... Just making sure you know that Tim Harrington passed away last weekend. Heart attack. Tim’s Memorial Service will be: 2/29/24 at 2 PM at Austin Ridge Bible Church at 9300 Bee Cave Rd, Austin, TX 78733 in Westlake. At the Worship Center building. Please spread the word.
