Randalls store on 35th Street in Central Austin to close

One of eight Randalls stores located in Austin is closing down in about a month, a spokesperson for the company said Wednesday. Click here for the CBS Austin Story and link

According to a statement sent from Albertsons Companies Southern Division, the Randalls store located at 1500 West 35th Street will be closing on or before November 6.

Our lease term has expired, and the land-owner, Kin Properties, is planning to re-develop the property into a mixed-use development including residential. We remain committed to the Austin market and invite customers to shop at the remaining Randalls stores, several of which have been recently remodeled.

The company, however, did say the employees will not lose their job but rather be placed in other nearby Randalls locations.

The store chain is also looking at multiple sites in and around the city for potential new stores.
